Thunder Over Michigan – 2015

I just want to briefly mention the big Air Show event coming later this month.  On August 29 and 30 Thunder Over Michigan will be at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti Michigan. Major attractions will be The Blue Angles, an F-16 Tactical demo, the B-29 “Fifi”, a deHavilland Mosquito, an Fw190, aerobatic pilot Michael Goulian, a WWII Battle re-enactment and several other vintage warbirds. This is always a fun show.  Proceeds go to support the Yankee Air Museum.

I strongly encourage anyone who can make the trip to do so! I will be there on Saturday the 29th in the “Cadet Club”.  If any readers want to meet up there use the “contact me” link to let me know!

About atcDave

I'm 5o-something years old and live in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I'm happily married to Jodie. I was an air traffic controller for 33 years and recently retired; grew up in the Chicago area, and am still a fanatic for pizza and the Chicago Bears. My main interest is military history, and my related hobbies include scale model building and strategy games.

Enjoy the day, especially the Mosquito, an increasingly rare Warbird.

We had one cancel a couple years ago, so I’ve still never seen one fly! I am definitely looking forward to it. The Fw190 is another type I’ve never seen, so I have high hopes for this year.
