I’ve mentioned my model shop being down for a basement remodel, well I thought I’d share a look what’s been done with the main part of the space.
The major part of the newly finished space is a home theater, with sections I call office and library. But of interest to this site is significant model display space!
My wife and I have been in this house for 18 years and we’ve discussed doing something with this space almost from the start.
Now that the Dave Cave is complete I can work on getting the model shop back up and running.
Yeah, looks awesome!
Thanks!
It’s definitely an improvement. Let’s just say, there’s a reason I never posted display area photos before.
That is absolutely fantastic and a worthy place to display your talents!
Thank you!
Of course the risk now is never leaving the basement again…
Every home should have one, it’s fabulous, and what a great collection of models you have. Quite heavy on the Pacific theatre if I’m not mistaken, which is nice to see these days, a very much forgotten war.
Thank you AT.
I am interested in the whole war, the big picture. But no doubt the Pacific holds a particular fascination to me.
It’s certainly an interesting topic and you have some great examples of machinery there. Reminds me of my youth! Thank you for sharing them with us!
The choice of (US mid sea?) blue for the Dave Cave is inspired. Did you have much trouble getting it signed off by Mrs Dave? I shall be adding you to the Men in Sheds hall of fame, unless you have any objections?
Regards, Chri.
Hah, not at all!
She’s actually a professional designer and helped me pick the color.
I wanted something dark for movie watching; and the blue is for Chicago Bears, blue jeans and WW2 US Navy aircraft! A winning trifecta.
I’d be honored to be in the sheds hall of fame!
Mrs Dave would be honored too!
