It looks like I jinxed myself a couple weeks ago by saying I expected to get so much work done this summer! Family emergencies, in addition to more normal summer chaos have made this a difficult time to get anything done.
My next post will be the SB2U Vindicator, I have about five days of work remaining on it. What I can’t say is when I’ll find those five days. So keep watching this space…
I will be waiting…
That is good to know!
I was out of state for three weeks. Now I’ve been home for almost one week, and have had two, brief opportunities to even sit down at my work bench. At this rate it may be July before I finish anything!
I have completed the Spitfire project. I have just started another project long overdue…
I saw! That’s awesome, I look forward to your next build.
I’m glad I’m not the only one! I hope things sort out for you soon.
It is frustrating how little time I have for something so therapeutic! I have noticed your posts have also slowed down, so I know you feel the same frustration.
I hesitate to get too specific here (not sure this is really the right place); but I will say my father passed away two weeks ago and my mother has Alzheimer’s. So I’m dad’s executor and mom’s POA. I live 1100 miles away, and am doing business on line, by phone and with a lot of travel.
Obviously hobbies are “less important”, but I miss them terribly. So I will try make what time I can, while knowing it will not be much.
Wow. I am very sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I watched my father-in-law go through this just a few months ago so I know what you are accomplishing here. He didn’t have the distance issue to work around so I can’t imagine the stress that adds. Hobbies are absolutely less important and it sure makes me look at my meager situation a whole lot differently. Take your time and things will eventually smooth out. I look forward to some new posts!
I will look forward to doing new posts too! A part of me *needs* to get back to it, but more important and more urgent things keep coming up.
And I sure do appreciate the prayers!
Chill out! Your hobby should never turn into a job. Otherwise, you’ll have two jobs to stress about, and that is not good.
Hah! No doubt.
I still clearly do my hobbies from a love of the hobby. But even so, I find it frustrating to not be able to devote the time I would like. There are things that are more important, and the hobby gets pushed to the background for a while. But I still miss the hobby.
Especially when I should be able to finish my next project in less than a week, but I’m betting it will be twice that, or more….
