Built from 1937-41 the BMW 327 is an attractive cabriolet coupe.
After the jump, a look at a fun civilian car that would be seen all through the war years.
Just over 500 of this car were built. With production continuing into the early war years this would have been a late model car, presumably used by upper middle class civilians or upper mid-level military officers.
This was a fun project. Its the only shiny car I’ve built to date! This is a Hasegawa kit that was first sold as a special extra along with their Fw190. It is well tooled, but with a lot of very small parts it was difficult in places. The paint scheme was an adventure too. The gloss finish highlights flaws, and the color breaks don’t really line up with any panel lines or parts breaks. So getting everything smooth and even was tricky. I will try something like this again, but I expect it will always be a little outside of my comfort zone!
As a BMW owner, I found BMW 327 interesting! I have photos from three-wheeled BMW Isetta in my blog.
Happy weekend!
Now THAT is interesting.
